Airbridge is a privately owned Western Australian company turning the carbon that industry has to deal with into products worth selling.

The journey

How Airbridge began

Airbridge began with a contrarian idea: the carbon a plant has to deal with is not waste to bury at a cost, but a raw material it can capture, repurpose and sell.

The insight

Early work on carbon-rich industrial streams revealed a bigger opportunity. Captured CO2 could be a flexible feedstock, not just an input to one fixed product.

The platform

So the technology was built as a platform, able to turn captured carbon into limestone, fertilisers or chemical feedstocks, depending on what the market needs.

The proof

Years of research, engineering and pilot-scale work in Perth, Western Australia demonstrated it at operational scale, turning real captured CO2 into commercially relevant products.

Why it matters

That flexibility is the defining feature. Carbon becomes a versatile industrial input, not a waste stream.

Nick is a chemical engineer with a master's in reactive distillation and 25 years across the energy and technology sectors. He focuses on sustainable, scalable industrial solutions and leads Airbridge's commercial strategy and the delivery of its projects.

Dr Sam Rudd

Chief Technology Officer

Sam is a chemical engineer and materials scientist with 20 years of experience across industry and applied research, including large-scale chemical manufacturing leadership and the development of patented technologies. He focuses on advanced manufacturing that addresses environmental, health and climate challenges. He is named inventor on multiple Australian and international patents, and leads Airbridge's science and technology development.
